Dance to the Piper

Bagpipers and Highland dancers are invited to attend "Dance to the Piper"!

Pipers who are interested in practicing to pipe for highland dancing are invited to participate. Colin MacKenzie will be there to offer instruction to pipers looking to learn tips and tricks when piping for dancers.

Dancers are invited to come and dance for the pipers, practice dancing to a variety of tunes, and learn how to "listen" to the intricacies of bagpipe music.

Pipers will gain real time experience and dancers will enjoy the practice and camaraderie as well as learn some Scottish Country dancing and an Ice Cream Social afterwards.

$5 admission for all dancers, parents, pipers, and spectators. Your admission includes ice cream and one raffle ticket.

All participants will receive a complimentary raffle ticket. Raffle tickets are $1. If you bring a friend to introduce them to Highland Dancing then you get an additional raffle ticket free!

Bagpipers who are interested -- please fill out this form.  We will contact you with more details about the event as the date gets closer.

Come and learn and join in the fun!

Thank you to our volunteers!

Thank you to  all the volunteers, dancers, pipers, and teachers for attending the PHDA Spring Competition! See the competition results here.

We held our annual elections and have some new PHDA Board Members. A warm welcome to Julie Leffler, Megan Bluhm, Donna Drucker and Kinley Lally. As an entirely member-run organization we rely on our volunteers. It takes the support of volunteers to organize and run competitions and fundraisers for our dancers. Thank you and welcome! Meet the PHDA Board of Directors.

The PHDA President's Award

The PHDA President’s Award was started back in 2009 by PHDA President David Ritchie. He wanted to present an award of recognition to the people that help out the PHDA in many different ways. It takes many volunteers with different skills and abilities to make an organization such as this successful. And this is one small way in which the PHDA can recognize these gifts and talents that are given.

I am please to announce that this year’s President’s Award goes to Jim Patterson. Jim has served over 8 years as both the treasurer and president of the PHDA. He has always been willing to help out when asked and has been a great supporter of Highland Dancing. We appreciate Jim’s support and congratulate him on this well deserved recognition award. Thank you Jim !!

Gail Bacon, PHDA President

Another day of great dancing! Congratulations to all that attended and thank you to our wonderful volunteers!
