Rules and Entry information
1. Dance competition will be governed by the rules and regulations of the RSOBHD.
2. Advance registration is necessary. Dancers must enter by January 26, 2026
3. No refunds of entry fees will be given. No exceptions.
4. Each Dancer must present a valid 2026 ScotDance registration card
5. The decision of the judge is final.
6. No one other than the competition committee may communicate with the judge.
7. All age groups will be determined at the close of the entry.
8. Dancers will dance in inverse order of entry (first to enter last to dance)
9. Dancers must remain in costume to receive awards.
10. An Aggregate trophy will be awarded in each Beginner, Novice, Intermediate and
Premier age group. No Aggregate trophy will be awarded in Primary. Beginner
Trophy Fling does not count towards the Aggregate.
11. Any protest must be submitted in writing to the competition organizer, properly signed
and accompanied by a fee of $20. It must be made immediately following the competition. If
the protest is sustained the fee will be returned.

Beginner Dances:Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Seann Triubhas (3&1), Scottish Lilt (4), Trophy Fling (4) Entry Fee: $35
Novice Dances: Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Seann Triubhas (3&1), Lilt (4), Flora (4) Entry Fee: $40
Intermediate Dances: Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Seann Triubhas (3&1), Strathspey & Half Tulloch, Lilt (4) Entry Fee: $40
Premier Under 12 Dances: Fling (4), Sword (2&1), Strathspey & Reel of Tulloch, Lilt (4), Blue Bonnets (4) Entry Fee: $45
Premier 12 & Over Dances:Fling (6), Sword (3&1), Strathspey & Reel of Tulloch, Lilt (4), Blue Bonnets (4) Entry Fee $45
** Entry includes all dances; please let us know if your dancer will not be competing in all of them.
$2.00 of each entry will go to ScotDance USA NW Region to help with Regional and National Championships.

Waiver
In consideration of the acceptance of this entry, I hereby for myself, my heirs, executors
and administrators waive and release the officers and directors of the Portland Highland
Dance Association, Valley Community Presbyterian Church and their agents and/or
representatives from all claims, damage, injuries or property damage and/or losses
which may be suffered by me (or my child) during the Portland Highland Dance
Competition on January 31, 2026. By submitting my entry for this competition. I also
agree to abide by all of the rules set forth by the PHDA Competition Committee and its
representative Committees and follow the Scotdance USA Code of Ethics.
